Holo thingy...

So this will be a place to post my WIP images. Crunch time right now pretty much has me working 12-15 hours a day, so the amount of modeling I get done is minimal. It makes me sad, but I try to do at least a little bit a day to keep the rust off.

Here is a quick render of my last High Poly shot. No real direction here, no planning (I fail I know), so I am about to head into the detail phase. The major forms are blocked out now it is time to finish this off then move to baking and texturing.

Some things that I want to change:
redo the pieces with the "wut?" text pointing to them. They are too smooth and don't really fit with the rest of the piece. A buddy sparked a cool idea where I sort of create a cage of mirror like objects that are used to bounce the light around and create the holo image in the middle. I will try some stuff and see what I can come up with. I am really really liking sub-d modeling though. Learning new tricks and using tools in ways I had not thought of before. More soon, work permitting :(

Wheeew a blog

So I finally decided that a blog would be a decent way of cataloging my adventure towards a job as a game artist. One of those jobs I didn't even know existed when growing up, but the thought of working in an environment were every single person around you is creative is exciting. Much to learn, a long way to go, but I want it, bad.
